Former UNM head jailed in prostitution case

Former University of New Mexico President F. Chris Garcia was arrested and jailed Thursday in connection with a multistate, online prostitution ring that authorities say was run by a physics professor from New Jersey.

Santa Fe deputy investigated in theft case

A Santa Fe County deputy sheriff is on paid leave after a theft at a Kmart. The Santa Fe New Mexican reports 39-year-old Deputy Jeremy Garcia was not arrested, but was issued a citation for a misdemeanor and released on his own recognizance, pending an appearance in Santa Fe Municipal Court.
